Falcon Northwest:
The Unofficial PC of NASCAR!

Do celebrities buy Falcon Northwest computers? Well, sure they do! When you reach a certain level of income and popularity, you start to think to yourself, "Why should I settle for anything but the best?" and as we all know from the reviews that have poured in as of late, the Falcon Mach V is By Far the best gaming machine on the planet, so it just stands to reason that one of the most talented NASCAR drivers on the circuit today, Dale Earnhardt Jr., chose to supply his gaming room with four, count 'em FOUR top-of-the-line Falcons to satisfy his gaming needs.

Now, a lot celebrities buy from Falcon, but not all of them show them off on MTV! Imagine my surprise when I watched the episode with Dale in it and noticed something strangely familiar about the computers that he was using to hook up his four-system LAN!

Dale shows the interviewer around his palatial estate, and eventually brings us to his gaming room, which he seemed to be the most proud of out of all the luxuries in his home.

The above photo is a screen capture from the show that undeniably shows off a Falcon Mousepad next to the monitor of one Dale's monster Falcon's.

Not only is Dale interested in gaming and Falcon's, but also two of his buddies from the NASCAR circuit, Lyndon Amick and Hank Parker Jr. use Falcon computers and have bought several of their own.

After getting over the initial shock of seeing Falcon Northwest computers on T.V., I decided I would delve a little deeper into the story of Dale Earnhardt Jr. and check out one of his many fansites. This site, Dale Jr. Fans.com featured a great interview with Dale and gave insite into how obsessed he is with gaming, here's a snip:

Scene: You're really into playing video games on computer. How did you get into that?

Dale Earnhardt Jr.: I really wanted a computer real bad and it took me a while to where I could afford one. I used my sister's name and put it on her credit and paid it off, because I didn't have credit. That was back when I was about 16 or 17. The store wouldn't give me credit, so we put it in my sister's name and I paid her and she paid the bill. Then I got two computers and got to linking them up and learning how they work and how to fix 'em and improve them and things like that. Then I figured I would get real serious about it and I called a company in Oregon that makes computers just for gaming. I ordered four of 'em. I ordered Hank Parker Jr. one and now he's got another one. Lyndon Amick has ordered one, so I've got four at my house and I linked them all together in a network where we can all share files. Then I went to Lowe's and got four desks that are corner desks. When you put all four of them together it just makes a big octagon and all four of us can sit there in a big circle and play against each other. They have dividers where we can't see each other's screens and hear each other's speakers. It's a lot of fun.

Then a telephone company was putting in a T1 line over at my dad's shop, so I talked to them and asked them how difficult it would be put one in mine. They normally don't put them in residences, but we got that done, so now we have a real fast connection where all four computers can save on to that same line. It's like a fast cable modem. All four computers can get on that one line together and we can play other people on the Internet. It's just cool because you are navigating the Web a lot quicker, at faster speeds. I play Hank while he's at his apartment. I've got a buddy up North that I play. I race him all the time and he's up in New York.

Scene: Do you play just racing games, or do you play other stuff, too?

D.E.: We play racing games and like S.W.A.T. and terrorist-type games. Stuff like that is pretty cool. I like stuff that is real, not aliens and animals and shit like that. I like real games, like war games and stuff like that.

Pretty neat stuff, huh? Dale seems like a real down to earth guy who, when he's not racing his car at speeds in excess of 200 MPH, likes to sit down at his Falcon and simulate driving cars in excess of 200 MPH! A man who knows what he likes, indeed!
